China Stone has announced the launch of a limited edition high-precision calibrated Andalusite range.

China Stone, a world-leading provider of precision cut natural gemstones in a strictly uniformed and digitally calibrated array of colors, are making a dramatic shift into the semi-precious and rare gemstone sector at the launch of its limited edition high-precision calibrated Andalusite gemstone range.

Named after the Andalusia province of Spain where it was discovered in 1789, Andalusite is a popular collector's gemstone, best known for its extreme pleochroism and unusual color, which is frequently a mixture of both red and green. Despite it´s excellent durability (7 - 7.5 hardness) and interesting color features, it is largely unknown by the public and rarely used in jewelry due to a supply shortage.

The limited range of Brazilian brownish-pink and orangey-pink, Andalusite is offered within "Eye clean" and "Commercial quality" clarity grades, and in size ranges of 1.50mm, 1.80mm and 2.00mm. Due to the limited production capacity of 15.000 pieces, stock is sold on a first come first serve basis.
